Sebastian Berg is a political science researcher in the group “Democracy & Digitalization” at the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society. He is also a member of the research group “Politics of Digitalization” at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center, with previous visiting and research positions at FU Berlin and Princeton University. His research and publication focus on theories of democracy and digitalization, the politics of datafication, the cybernetization of democratic representation, and the role of civic technology for democratic societies. He is currently working on a doctoral thesis at the Humboldt University Berlin on the datafication of democratic representation in the digital constellation.
