Information

Simon Berghofer works as research associate at the Institute for Media and Communication Studies of the Free University Berlin. There, he is acts under the Division for Communication Policy and Media Economics. 

His current research focuses on media and communication policy at the national and international level. He is especially interested in issues of global media regulation and comparative politics. He is currently pursuing his doctorate at the FU on changing regulation patterns in global media and communication policy. He has previously been working in research projects on German political journalism as well as German tabloid journalism. Furthermore, he has worked as lecturer on media politics in the “Berlin European Studies” program (FU-BEST) and at the Goethe Institute Berlin. In 2013, he was granted a scholarship by the Einstein Stiftung Berlin as visiting scholar at the Smart Family Institute of Communication of the University of Jerusalem. Simon has studied at Freie Universität Berlin and the Université libre de Bruxelles and holds a Master's degree in German Literature, Media and Communication Studies, and Political Science.
