Montserrat Batet is a tenure-track lecturer at the Computer Engineering and Mathematics Department of Universitat Rovira i Virgili, in Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain. She got her PhD in computer science at Universitat Rovira i Virgili in 2011. Her specialisation is in the fields of semantics and information security and privacy studies, in which she have paved the ground of an interdisciplinary research line focused on designing semantically-grounded privacy protection methods for textual data. She has authored more than 55 papers (including 33 indexed journals) and has participated in European and national research projects. Her research achievements have been recently recognised by the Government of Catalonia with the “2016 Dona TIC” (Woman in ICT) Award, which recognises female excellence in ICT in Catalonia. Since December 2017, she appears among the top 1% most cited authors in Computer Science in the last 10 years (WoK’s Essential Science Indicators). Montserrat is an academic editor at the Internet Policy Review open access journal.
