Dr. Linda Weigl is a political scientist and postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Information Law (IViR), University of Amsterdam. Her research focuses on algorithmic trust and the governance of decentralized socio-technical infrastructures.
She is part of the University of Amsterdam’s Trust Research Priority Area, which studies the evolution of trust in response to emerging algorithmic technologies and explores the potential disruptions to existing trust relationships, as well as possibilities to identify the many well-known and unknown risks that come with it. Her work aims to provide insights into the legal and socio-technological safeguards and limitations of trustworthiness and risk management in the context of techno-political infrastructures, such as decentralized transaction protocols, online platforms, or AI.
