Lena Henkes is a researcher in the research programme "The evolving digital society" and part of the international research project "Shaping 21st Century AI – Controversies and Closure in Media, Policy, and Research" at the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG). She worked as deputy editor of the Internet Policy Review from April 2022 to April 2023. Lena holds a master’s degree in Political Science from Freie Universität Berlin and her master’s thesis focused on digital sovereignty in digital policy discourse in Germany. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media Studies and Political Science at the University of Bremen.
