David Lyon is Professor Emeritus and former Director of the Surveillance Studies Centre at Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario. He has written several books and many articles about surveillance, the latest of which is The Culture of Surveillance: Watching as a Way of Life (Polity 2018). He has led a number of large, collaborative and international research projects on surveillance, funded by the SSHRC, and they have produced books, articles, reports, op-eds, blogs and films such as Transparent Lives: Surveillance in Canada / Vivre a nu: la surveillance au Canada (Athabasca Press 2014) and films at screeningsurveillance.com.
