Christian Djeffal is project leader of the project IoT and eGovernment at the Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society, Berlin. He is interested amongst other things in data protection and security, freedom of information as well as digitisation of scholarship.

Christian Djeffal studied law at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich and at University College London. He received his PhD at Humboldt-University of Berlin for his thesis "Static and Evolutive Treaty Interpretation" while working as research assistant to Georg Nolte. He has been visiting scholar at University of Amsterdam, University of Cambridge, and the Max-Planck-Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg. Christian Djeffal is the coordinator of the German "International Law in Domestic Courts" team that helps to build the transnational database "Oxford Reports on International Law".
