Bonno Pel is assistant professor in critical innovation studies at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Utrecht University (NL). His research is focused on the governance and politics of sustainability transitions and processes of transformative social innovation. He has studied these themes in various empirical areas such as traffic management, social enterprises, energy citizenship and energy prosumerism, circular economy, digital transition, delta area management, sustainable festival management, and labour transformation. He has fulfilled coordinator and work package lead roles in several multi-tiered research projects on regional, national and European levels.
