Ben Crum is Professor of Political Science at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He researches the ways in which democratic institutions respond to contemporary challenges like internationalization, socio-economic inequalities and digitalization. Recent publications of his include Populist Parties and Democratic Resilience (Routledge 2023, co-edited with Alvaro Oleart) and 'Why the European Parliament lost the Spitzenkandidaten-process' (JEPP 30(2)).
