Anne Helmond is a PhD candidate and lecturer with the Digital Methods Initiative at the New Media and Digital Culture program, Department of Media Studies, University of Amsterdam. In her research she focuses on the history of natively-digital objects such as the hyperlink and social plugins and inquires into the data flows that these objects enable between web platforms. Her research interests include software studies, platform studies, digital methods and web history.
