André Ramiro is Co-founder of the Law and Technology Research Institute of Recife (Brazil). He is currently a German Chancellor Fellow at the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (Berlin). André has a M.Sc. in Computer Science from the Federal University of Pernambuco and is also a Lawyer. He works with research and advocacy towards privacy and data protection policy. His disciplinary background is Law, public policy regarding privacy and data protection regulation, and secrecy of communications. His research interests include encryption, government hacking, facial recognition, and civil society participation.
