Naomi Appelman is a PhD researcher at the Institute for Information Law (IViR) at the University of Amsterdam and a visiting researcher at the Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society, Berlin, focussing on online speech regulation and platform governance. Her interdisciplinary PhD research (political philosophy and law) is on the contestability of content moderation systems as a way to minimise online exclusion.
